Saturday during intercessory prayer, the Lord dropped a Word in my spirit ….preparedness.

Preparedness is defined as, having a state of readiness; especially war.

Who believes that God can speak one word and change your mindset, change your situation, and set you free?

When I heard it, I immediately googled the definition and upon reading it I began to wonder what He was saying to me.

I thought about an actual war. I considered fallout from the presidential election. I thought about conflict that could arise at work.

It was none of those things…..He was saying preparedness regarding the war that is taking place in the spiritual realm. He was saying, in my natural state I should always have a posture needed to go to battle.

Guess what? The next day a situation arose and I was not prepared, although He had just told me “preparedness”.

We are often caught off guard because we allow life issues to not necessarily take our focus off God but limit our ability to be battle ready.

Please don’t only relate being battle ready and war to physical altercations or verbal exchanges of harsh words.

We wrestle not against flesh and blood, although we are usually prepared for flesh and blood.

We wrestle against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Be prepared to war through prayer! Be prepared to go to war for those whom you serve. Be prepared to war in the spirit while the Word of God is going forth.

Preparedness…..
