Sometimes our only intent is to show love so that we can receive love. And not love in some deep seated sense of passion deriving from sex and lust, but the kind of love that makes us feel safe and wanted. The kind of love that makes us feel protected when we are lying in the arms of the person we love. You know love that wakes you up in the middle of the night to pray over them; yes that kind!

Maybe sometimes we want it so badly that the very thought of not having it leads us down a path of self sabotage. Or maybe the person we want it with is not able to accept the love being offered to them because of their own brokenness and their dependence on being approved by others who have not direct bearing on their "situation".

It's time to look in the mirror and just let things be. If it's good, flow with it. If it's stressful ensure it's not you causing stress on yourself because you are so caught up in self. Love is patient just as letting things blossom requires patience.

We often focus on visual characteristics when we consider engaging someone intimately….. and intimately knowing someone does not always mean sexually …

Most men want a “ dime” and I understand we all want someone we are visually attracted to.

Most women want someone who can pay most or all of their “ personal” expenses and I definitely get that .

The problem is we often focus so much on what we want that we fail to consider what we need….

I need someone who can pray …. If he is fine and can a pray, its a win!

I need someone who is willing to build with me. I know we have been trained to want a man who works but I have met so many men who work but never build with their partner. I’ll take a builder.

I need a man with a vision. Vision over ideas!

I need commitment. Commitment to communicate, commitment to be here, and commitment to make an effort daily.

And also on my list, a man who is not afraid to explore…. Mmmm

Ladies pray about what you need asking God to help you become that for the man He is sending your way.

God I love you and worship you for who you are

God you are Jehovah Jireh; I thank you for provision

God You are Jehovah Rapha; I thank you for healing me

God you are Jehovah Nissi; I thank you for being my banner

God you are Jehovah Shalom; God you are my peace when there is no peace

God you are Jehovah Rohi; God where you lead me I will follow.

God forgive me for my sins. Create in me a clean heart oh God and renew a steadfast spirit within me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness.

God heal every broken place in me. God heal my broken heart and comfort me as I go through. God soften my heart to forgive and love your people according to your will.

God my heart and my flesh may fail but it is you God who strengthens me. God your Word says be anxious for nothing; God forgive me for worrying and forgive me for trying to do your job. God I cast all my cares on you. God I cast cares concerning my children and my grandchildren on you. God I cast issues concerning my relationships on you. God I cast cares concerning my job on you. God today I lay it all at your feet. God I petition your throne regarding things concerning me. God your Word says you will perfect that which concerns me. God your Word says after I Have suffered a little while it is you who will establish me. God help me to suffer well, enduring all things, and fighting a good fight of faith. God my life is not my own; it is yours. God your Word says you will give me the desires of my heart. God may my desires line up with your will. God may I delight in you above all things. God I thank you for grace; God I thank you for the Blood of Your Son Jesus..... the Blood still works. Search me oh God; I don't know what I need or what to ask; Holy Spirit intercede for me; help me in my weakness.

Just Talking

Sellittia Johnson is a native of Tennessee born and raised in Pulaski. Sellittia was educated in the Giles County School system and graduated Giles County High School in 1991.  While in high school, Sellittia joined the Tennessee National Guard and went on to enlist in active duty Army in 2003.

After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army in 2007, Sellittia went on to pursue an education in psychology and mental health counseling. She received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Martin Methodist College in 2012 and earned a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University in 2017. Sellittia has a desire for learning and improving herself through continuing her education and plans to study Speech Pathology at Tennessee State University.

Sellittia has a heart to advocate for those who are not able to advocate for themselves.  She has worked in community mental health and direct support care for persons with disabilities. Sellittia is employed by the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. Her heart has led her to a life of servitude and although she had to overcome various obstacles, she now feels she has reached a place of total continuous healing and is able to serve in a more excellent way.

Throughout her life, Sellittia has served in various church auxiliaries and in various capacities of ministerial leadership.  In 2013 Sellittia connected with Apostle Troy and Andrea Cochran of New Beginnings Ministry. Apostle Troy and Andrea guided Sellittia on how to gain a more meaningful relationship with Christ and how to walk in spiritual giftings.  Under their direction, Sellittia established “Waiting Women '', a ministry designed to support women in dating the Godly way and enhancing their lives spiritually. Sellittia was ordained a church Elder in 2014 and preached her first sermon, I Kings 22, reflecting on the importance of having prophets assigned to your life and having them speak God’s truth and not man’s lies.

Sellittia is supported in ministry by her three children and three adorable granddaughters. She truly believes this is her season of favor to give back what God has given to her. Although her story has not been easy to walk out, she wants to encourage others in the Word, Romans 8:28, And we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.
